The Western Regional Service Board was created by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador to deliver regional services in municipalities within the western region of the province. Known as the operators of Western Regional Waste Management; this 11-member Board of Directors was elected in 2017 and is comprised of representatives from each of the nine wards in Western Newfoundland. In accordance with section 3 of the Western Regional Service Board Regulations, the board “has the power to construct, acquire, maintain and operate a waste management system within the Western Region..”
